After blaming his former partner (a classic reflex!), he embarked on questioning and personal research without preconceptions. He ultimately discovered that this explained why women today complain about not meeting “real men”.

Order on Amazon

Women like leadership

By constantly trying not to be “controlling”, men have become nice guys, devoid of leadership and decision-making ability. A shortcut would be to blame the feminists and accuse them of turning men into obedient lapdogs, but in reality it is rather a problem of transmission. Or the absence of transmission. At the present time, many men have grown up in fatherless families, due to divorces and single mothers. At school, they have often had teachers who were women, and they have grown up without a strong male role model. Male mentoring has been lost.

The claim that women are looking for “new-age”, sensitive and soft men has been propagated by the media. Here are the 4 main ones:

To systematically object: The mistake in trying to assert one's leadership would be to systematically oppose the decisions made by one's partner, as this will create conflict and misunderstanding. Especially if this change in attitude is sudden. He recommends, on the contrary, finding problems that still need to be sorted out, things to do that have dragged on, and dealing with them. By moving forward, by finding and implementing solutions, a man regains leadership within the couple.

Not deciding: If you think that by being nice, sensitive and leaving all the decisions to your wife you are fulfilling her, you are mistaken. In reality, she is probably very frustrated by it.

Playing the victim This is also an attitude to avoid at all costs. Some men hope to gain compassion by playing the victim of their previous relationships. This is a miserable and off-putting attitude for women, as it indicates that they are incapable of taking responsibility.

Being a wonderful husband: Many men tell themselves “I’m a wonderful husband, I do the washing-up, I take out the bins, I mow the lawn, I change nappies, I give the children a bath.” It is undoubtedly great, but it is also taking on the role of the nanny. Being present in the face of difficult situations, and knowing how to handle them, that is what is expected of men. And it is in this way that it is truly possible to make a woman happy.

Order on Amazon 🕓 Free delivery

What women look for in a man: lessons from the past

A parallel can be drawn with education. The author got this idea from the book by Dr Benjamin Spock“How to care for and raise your child” published in 1946, and having sold over 50 million copies. A parent must not be their child's friend, they must be their father or mother. A child has many friends, but only one father. It is the same for a husband. A woman also has friends, but only one husband.

This is in reference to’attitudes of men in the past that the author has chosen to write a narrative story, in the form of a grandfather teaching the principles of masculinity to his grandson. He chose the grandfather rather than the father to show just how deeply the role of the man has been anchored in society for hundreds of years. Being the head of the household is a heritage, a responsibility. This does not mean that it should not be shared, but women want to feel this sense of responsibility in men, and it is for this reason that, in today's society, they often complain about the lack of quality men.

This article is based on an interview given by Elliot Katz, the author of the book Being The Strong Man a Woman Wants.

[26

post-3426","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-developpement-personnel
["GET
